Tadalafil should be taken as instructed by your doctor, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole and do not break or split it. Avoid taking in more or less quantities, or for longer than has been recommended.
Tadalafil can be taken once a day for erectile dysfunction, approximately 45 minutes before sexual activity – do not take more than once per day. Tadalafil helps to achieve an erection as part of sexual stimulation. An erection will not happen just by taking a tablet.
If you are taking Adcirca for pulmonary arterial hypertension, do not take Tadalafil. Allow 24 hours to pass between doses.
If you miss a dose of Tadalafil, take it as soon as you remember, or skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take an extra tablet to make up for the missed dose. Overdose symptoms may include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat and feeling light-headed or fainting.
Do not drink alcohol while taking Tadalafil as this can increase certain side effects. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice is known to interact with Tadalafil and could lead to potentially dangerous side effects.
Avoid using other drugs for erectile dysfunction, such as sildenafil (Viagra) or vardenafil (Levitra) while you are taking Tadalafil.
